HomeLink in the News
HomeLink has had some great press coverage recently. We were very proud to be featured at number 2 in the Sunday Times Top 100 Holidays at the end of January. The very next day, Channel 4's SuperScrimpers ran a feature on home exchange holidays too.
A New Discussion Forum
We have just introduced our new improved discussion forum for members. HomeLink members have done tens of thousands of exchanges and that kind of experience is worth sharing! There are threads on a huge variety of topics from car insurance to how to swap keys to dog-friendly exchanges to special exchange requests and plenty in between. All members have open access to this forum and can post questions or comments as often as they wish.
TV company request
We have been approached by a TV production company developing a series on home swap holidays for a British TV channel. They are looking for UK volunteers for a brief chat with the associate producer. She writes: "
We are looking for families in the UK, who would be interested in finding out more, and who would also consider swapping their home for a short time with another family. Initially we would just be looking to have a telephone chat for research, with no obligation to take part in any filming. We would want to find out a little bit about their home, family, attractions you would recommend in your area and the type of holiday/swap you would be looking for. It doesn’t matter whether you have swapped hundreds of times or not at all as long as it is something you would consider. We hope to pair up families, from the people interested in taking part, and then film the swap as it happens and from both sides." Please get in touch if you may be interested in taking part.
...and another one
The second approach is slightly different and comes with the promise of an all expenses paid trip to the US. A new prime time TV show to be called 'Twin Towns' is looking for UK families to swap with a family from their twin town or sister city in the USA
The two families travel to each others sister cities and over the course of a week, swap homes, swap jobs (if possible), swap schools (if possible) and generally swap lifestyles. They'll also act as unofficial ambassadors for their cities, meeting local dignitaries and generally being treated to the best of what their sister city has to offer.
There are around 160 Twin Towns and Sisters Cities in the UK and USA (see full list) so if you live in one of these towns and may be interested do get in touch with me and I'll pass on your details.
Short Notice List - An Easter home swap?
The HomeLink site has a Short Notice List for members looking to travel in the next 8 weeks. If you are open to the idea of a few days away over Easter, why not browse these listings to see what is on offer?
Members are still busy planning for the summer, so if you are still thinking about how to holiday this year, why not become a member and start making contact with other members? If you'd just like to have a chat about home exchanging and HomeLink, please just get in touch and I'll give you a call.
