Pre-Exchange Agreement Forms

Agreement Forms have an important role to play in exchange planning. As far as HomeLink is concerned, exchange plans only evolve into a binding commitment once signed forms have been exchanged. Our advice is to avoid committing to non-refundable expenses such as flights without a signed agreement as your partner is able to withdraw at any stage prior to completion of a signed agreement.
Even if you and your partners have discussed the precise details of an exchange over a period of weeks, HomeLink strongly recommends that you complete a written agreement. Whilst you can enter as much detail as you like (e.g. responsibility for telephone bills, number of guests who will be staying, pet care), the general rule is that comprehensive agreements go a long way towards eliminating post-exchange disputes as there are fewer misunderstandings.
